We did a ton of yard work. I did some container planting...
These planters are stationed on our front porch. This year I wanted to do more green with a pop of another color, so I chose the red verbena as the pop. I was going for texture, some cascade action, and a hint of red.
I got both containers at a local nursery/garden shop last year. I unified the planters by doing the same grass and verbena, but chose different cascading vines. My goal for this year was very low maintenance, and all I'll need to do with these is water them.
We also did lots of swimming...
And just enjoyed ourselves.
Life is good.
I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend!

Holly, sounds like my kind of weekend!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect weekend. Ours was pretty action packed, but I did manage to squeeze in a nap yesterday. Love your planters!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable peanut Sheila is. Love her hat and your planters look beautiful. Sounds like a well-earned, relaxing weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove your stylish little Sheila in her stripes! Verbena is one of my favorites, it packs a punch and is easy to maintain. You'll have to give us a mid-summer updated photo, too! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a perfect weekend for the outdoors, other than the odd shower on Sat. We enjoyed a lowkey weekend which was perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour pots are lovely and Sheila is a fashion maven! TOO CUTE that wee one is! Glad you had a relaxing week-end, always a great way to start the summer!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic weekend! Your pots are gorgeous and Sheila is so cute!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a great weekend, Holly!! Your planters are so pretty! Flowers are on our agenda this weekend.
ReplyDeleteSheila is so cute in that striped bathing suit!! Has she been in a big pool yet? We were at a pool party this weekend and Maura loved it, spent like the whole afternoon in the pool with Paul...but I realized I need to get her some sort of floaty device/life jacket.
Look at that super duper cutie patootie!!! They don't come any cuter than that! Glad you were able to have a relaxing weekend ... especially with all of the activity going on for you right now!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a relaxing weekend! Is the bright green spiller Potatoe Vine? That's what I was trying to find for my planters, but couldn't come up with it here :-( What a cutie Little Miss is - you're in for lots of fun in the sun!
